Not that I am making an excuse for anyone, especially hertz, as a former LML1 who was layed off dealing with the issues like the one mentioned above (deposit) is something I don't miss.

The whole thing is the debit card credit score is a mystery...I was told during training it didn't hit the credit just "checked it" and that was a lie..and they never said what was good or what was bad so who knows what the computer is saying....anyways..I can't say I disagree with Hertz general deposit policy... in many cases they are renting a car with no prior knowledge or tracking of this person and having a credit card to keep hittin for cash sort of makes it easier..all they know he or she will never return the car and they let it off the lot for a 200 dollar deposit...but the case mentioned above a manager could deff waive that if they had a good heart..lil customer service...but they get rid of people who want to help customers...nice whata corporation

Astonished.

I heard the supposed "Technical Difficulty" involved if the latest Webcast was that Frissora was asked how he can afford to maintain Corporate Jets and Hire on the Executive level while the Company is in such dire condition.
He apparently went "Ape Kaka" in defense of His precious Executive Perks.
He's apparently to important to fly Commercial like normal people.
By the way, if anyone nabbed a copy of the infamous rant I wanna see it.

So, the Finance group at HAC had Townhall meetings on Monday with this so-called "CFO". Enormous embarrassment to say the least....To have someone so absolutely clueless about Hert, the RAC business, or business in general, in such a high profile position at Hertz. No more, does Hertz have an ounce of integrity at the top. Listen Board. YOU SCREWED UP!!! This lady is CLUELESS and apparantly, has no intention of learning our business. OKC groups walked away laughing, humiliated and in awe at the numerous ignorant remarks made by the Hertz CFO. We are all surprised Schwarz hasn't chewed her up and spit her out like he has done to many more, more qualified than her. He must be pissing bullets, having to report to such an idiot. This visit made it blatantly obvious how bad off this company really is. Elyse Douglas, your decisions should be questions 3 times over by someone who has a CLUE. WOW........

I've read 2-3 reports lately in the news claiming that Hertz "internal costs" are too much and they can cover this year, but 2010 is not looking good. There is almost no liquidity either.

Hertz will not survive unless they find a way to drop a lot of the salaries of the lazy union workers. These people are getting any where from $15-$25 a hour to rent or return a car, and that's not mentioning their bonuses. It's quite ridiculous if you really think about it.

I'm loving all the negative reports I'm hearing about Hertz and I really hope this lawsuit in California that's going against Hertz right now hurts them even more.

Any one find that damn video of Frissora going off yet? I'd really like to see that.

TC said...

what is this lawsuit in CA?

mad-as-hell said...

That is so funny about Elyse Douglas, she is the one who wanted everyone at the Data Center to turn off all their equipment when they went home, this included PC's, printers even if they were department or full floor printers, UNIX machines, lights, etc. This was to save some electricity costs.

Very few people have desk lights anymore, only ceiling lights.

She had no clue that virus checks and pushing new virus definitions happened at night along with the landesk scans. If everyone came back the next day and turned back on all their PC's, then the virus events happened then and the PC's were not only unusable for at least an hour, but the virus servers doing the pushes would have been overloaded.

Sounds to me that there were other reasons that she was hired, can you can something about golf balls?

As long as I am posting, another thing that came to light just this last week was that around half of the IBMers were told that their contract is up and April 1 they will no longer be on the Hertz account.

The reservation agents were also told that effective immediately they get to have a 5% reduction in hours paid and that this will be effected by giving them longer lunch breaks. Funny thing is that overtime is still available to work, and this works out how? LOL, they will use their new 5% free time to work overtime on it instead of regular time. So this saves money how?

Sounds like a lot of Obamanomics to me.

This is all just too funny and you just can't even try and make this stuff up. Where do they come up with all these ideas?

TC, the lawsuit is in regards to Managers not being paid fairly. Hertz requires their managers to work 10 hour days, and 5 days a week(most of the time more than 5 days a week), yet of course they only pay for 8 hours a day. Let me reiterate, Hertz FORCES their managers to work 10 hour days or else they can get in trouble. They also require managers to perform Union work (hourly paid jobs) if they are short staffed, such as wash cars, rent cars, and etc. Hertz does not provide lunch periods or break periods for managers either. It's being questioned because these managers should have been receiving hourly pay instead of salarys and Hertz broke a lot of employee laws.

All around, Hertz sucks!

TC said...

I was part of that in a major city...and its worse than that (some may know but I won't get into it) I hope that the lawsuit spreads to other states as well...it happened my first day and on my last...I did hourly jobs when i was "salaried" and the best part is a lot of time they factored managers into the hourly staffing numbers.

Anyone happy to know that our pay cuts have gone to buy another rental company. Particularly when we can't even afford to run our own? AH, the smell of bankruptcy anyone?

Caz said...

You know me..........I just read the article and the only sense I can make of Hertz buying Advantage is they didn't want Enterprise having the opportunity to own it. Hertz is trying to get as many locations as possible, but the dumbasses at the top don't really calculate all the costs that go into running all these locations. I don't see how a broke company, such as Advantage, could really help Hertz at the moment. But I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on what's going on.

Enterprise is so far ahead of Hertz in regards to business planning that it's quite ridiculous.

Oh yeah, I noticed that the Hertz Equipment Rental facility that used to be close to my work closed down.

Hertz Global melting pot. It does seem to me that Hertz belongs to the Peoples Republic of Park Ridge NJ. I worked for this corporation for over 15 years and am a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces. It seems that this corporation loves to get rid of veterans that served thier country, in the last couple of years this company has done several thousand lay offs which I know for fact have included many Veterans. Well all I have to say is if it were not for our country veterans that have served to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States this corporation would not be in business at this time. I encourage all U.S. Veterans and Members of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Do not rent from a Communistic Corporation!! Mean while due rent from the competitor, Enterprise Rent a Car encourages veterans to come work for them, along with United Rentals and Rental Service Corp.

I am very proud to be an American and regret the day Ford Motor Company sold the Hertz Corporation to a bunch of Money Hungry due nothings that just wanted to fill their pockets full of money.

T-7 days and counting till the ax falls again on what is left of HERTZ at the Data Center. So much for the contracts from a year ago and the promises of long term employment. Sure you lasted a year longer then alot of HERTZ people, but now your sol just like them.

I thought a lot of them were terminated on April 1.

How many are gone after the end of April?

Bob said...

4/1 was the day that most of the Hertz/IBM'ers were put on the bench, or taken off the account. 4/27 is the layoff day for us. Good luck all...

mad-as-hell said...

today is Apr 27, what happened?

Did Mark get another 16M for getting rid of more people?

Bob said...

As far as I know no Hertz employees were hacked on Monday. There was no IBM 'layoff' on 4/1. A lot of the ex-Hertzers were 'benched' meaning removed from the 'Hertz Account', now most of those were not able to find another position and on 4/27 they were laid off by IBM in their big 5000+ person layoff.

LongTimer said...

I spoke with one of the IBM'ers who got notice back around the first of April that she would not be needed on the Hertz Account after the end of the month.

I heard a couple of days ago, that she, and at least one other IBM person were re-hired by Hertz to stay on.

Several others were not so lucky and are not out of work.

That's pretty funny, I am pretty sure I know who you are talking about and if it is the person I was thinking of, they (IBM) totally threw her to the wolves. That is the first good thing I have heard Hertz do in a while. It will be funny that she will now be the customer to the people that just laid her off. The IBM AMS side (CCS side for that matter) does not seem to show much value to the on-shore AMS team. This is why they laid off a lot of them, and the remaining ones are ultra-stressed and increasingly burnt-out. I guess when/if Hertz recovers it will be interesting to see how India will be able to ramp up with out many of the domain experts. Oh well... On to better things... :)

Hey Bob. I don't see anyone naming names on here, so I'll just give you her initials, J.M.

And last year, about 2 weeks after being laid off, Hertz rehired P.T. He was lucky too. Just like J.M.

Way back in the 80's, J.M. was my Project Leader, when I was in Applications, and she has a LOAD of Hertz knowledge. Not long after that, G.L. took over the Application I was responsible for, and soon after, P.T. became my Project Leader.

It is a good thing Hertz took her back. And a good thing they took P.T. back too.

Turning in my notice on Monday!!! Finally getting away from IBM/Hertz is like stepping out from under a swinging axe pendulum. The Hertz ship is going down fast and I feel so fortunate to have been able to find a lifeboat. With the various IT groups decimated through layoffs and re-tasking to other accounts, I can't help but wonder when the big crash is going to come. In my view, it's inevitable.

Yes, I am kidding that Mark sent me naked pics of his secretary (I wish though)! ha ha

Just saying that this blog has hit bottom as there are not many posts anymore, and the ones that are here are mostly just jokes.

I don't know if Hertz is going to go out of business now, as much as I did think so a couple of years ago.

I am no longer with Hertz, and thought the end was near when Frisorra and company took over. I saw a lot of my long time friends get walked out the door.

For a long time, I almost "wished" that Hertz would go bankrupt, and completely out of business for what they did to my friends and me.

Now that I'm a little older, and not quite as bitter, I kinda hope they hang on, because I have a nice pension sitting in an account that I have not yet withdrawn, and I'm afraid that if they go bankrupt my money may go bye-bye.

I'd take it out now, but they told me I would be charged a 13% penalty for early withdrawal. I thought I'd try to hang on as in 2 years I will be 59 1/2 and can take out 100% without penalty.

Please Hertz, just 2 more years, until I get my pension out, then you can go belly-up!

Unknown said...

Longtimer,
First, Hertz doesn't control your retirement, so their demise will not effect it. Second, I took mine early without penalty by rolling it over into an IRA, but the check was never written to me nor was it ever in my possession. I have a financial adviser that provided the required information to do it right, and everything worked like a charm.

LongTimer said...

Clinton. Are you talking about your 401k or the Hertz Pension. I am in the process of moving my 401k to an IRA/CD.

A couple of us looked into the Pension in April 2008, just after IBM came in and took our jobs, and we were told there was a 13% penalty.

If it's true that I can also move my pension to an IRA/CD without penalty, I will also pursue that.

I just met with a friend of mine who is also lawyer, and learning the ropes as a financial advisor this last Thursay. We met at a bank where he is being shown how to set up IRA/CDs for clients.

I chose a CD that is going to give me 6.35% interest the first year, and 3.35% after that. I'm pretty happy with that, knowing that my money is now closer to me than leaving it in the 401k.

The last letter I received from the Hertz Pension Plan tells me I have just over 100k, but like I said, I was told by them that I would be charged a 13% penalty if I take it out before I am 59 1/2.

I am 57 1/2 right now, so I thought I'd try to wait it out 2 more years.

They told me that the money is safe, but in the back of my mind, I think of these large companies that have crashed the past few years, ENRON, for example, where the pension funds for all the employess were lost when the company went bankrupt.

You can't always believe what people will tell you.

But, I may contact the folks holding the pension funds, and see if I can simply transfer it to an IRA/CD without penalty. I would feel much safer having it in an account of my choice.

Unknown said...

Longtimer,
First let me respond to the Enron situation. The employees were coerced to buy Enron stock with their 401k money, that's the money that was lost, not government regulated pension funds. Second, I did roll over my retirement without penalty but I was 60, so maybe 59 1/2 is the key. I really don't believe so though. I certainly would do some checking because you can do a lot better with the money than the retirement fund does. If there is any doubt, you would be crazy to take it out till you reach 59 1/2. Good luck.

LongTimer said...

Just out of curiosity Clinton. Did you work in OKC during the years that you spent working for Hertz?

Just wondering if you are someone I've possibly known during the 22 1/2 years that I spent with Hertz.

I was an application programmer from November 1985 when I started at Hertz until May 1996, when I moved to the Database Analyst Group headed by Mark Nix.

Thanks John & Longtimer. I've been following this site for a while and have been disgusted as to the tone it's taken on. I hope no one thinks that "MarkFrissora" is actually Mark Frissora. I'm sure he monitors this site, but can't believe he'd have the time to respond, or better yet the interest in engaging someone like the online "MarkFrissora" in any sort of serious discussion. And, if he did respond, am confident his post would be a hell of a lot more interesting than the crap the online poser is posting. What's even worse, no matter what your feelings about Hertz or Sr. Management, you then bring his secretary into your ridiculous and degrading comments, completely uncalled for. Anyway, not sure if I'll keep following as the type of discussion that previously took place on here doesn't appear to exist any longer (although got some good pension info. from longtimer and Clinton, thx.).

LongTimer said...

Seriously! Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers with my "Secretary" comment.

I was actually just attempting to say, in another way, that this blog seems to have hit bottom.

Found out that Clinton and I have known each other for probably 20+ years.

I come over here once every couple of weeks to see if there are any other posts, and it seems like it has really slowed down as to the meaningfulness of what is posted.

And with someone thinking "Mark Frisorra" was really Mark Frisorra, I thought I'd attempt to throw in a little humor.

Apparently, you didn't like that, and I apologize.

I am now working for IBM, and "Hopefully", will be able to continue working another 7 or 8 years until I am around 65, so I can "retire" on my own terms.

IBM has made me "Primary" on both Hertz and on another Account, just as big and important, and I am in the process of gaining knowledge of other accounts. I hope to make myself valuable to IBM that they may keep me on for several years.

J. Jeffrey Zimmerman - Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary - Tenneco
Michael Clarke to Vice President, Human Resources, EMEA - Tenneco

I did go back to the Tech center to get my withholding fixed as with the new Obama scheme, I was going to owe some tax next year. I did notice only around 50 cars in the parking lot and the north parking lot is closed. ER only has 2 employees now.

I had submitted my changed W4 to the Res center but after waiting 2 months, they still had not gotten it done. They are a very big failure.

I'm on quite a few social circles now including Linkedin.

LongTimer said...

So John. Do you still work for Hertz, or IBM? I was wrong with my John J. guess, because the John I was thinking of left Hertz probably 20 years ago.

If you are still IBM/HERTZ, are you still in UNIX Tech Support?

I was in the massive layoff/retirement on Sept 30 last year after being with them for 30 years.

There are very few people that still work for Hertz.

Unknown said...

oh, and just last week I finally got everybody all talking on the same insurance page after over 100 hours of being on the phone with Hertz, Aetna, EyeMed, United Health Care, and CBCA for the last 6 months

seems Hertz was the problem, a very much lack of anybody who knows how to do anything there

I have been paying my CBCA bill all this time and all my insurance care bills kept coming back that I was no longer covered by insurance.

LongTimer said...

John. I think I might know who you are, but I don't know if I ever knew your last name. Seems like I put in a small change one time, and that was the only time we got together to figure out a problem.

I had made a change in IDMS, and considered it so trivial, that I never imagined it could screw anything up. But, there I was, 'ASSUMING' something, and you know what they say about that.

If I'm right, you were the one from Systems who came to me and said there was a problem communicating with IDMS. At first, I told you I had not done anything to change things, and then, Upon Further Review, I realized that YES, I had made a change.

I remember thinking, "how in the world could that 'little' change, create this problem????"

I didn't work with many in the 'Res' area, mostly Joe H. since he was the No1 Club guy.

I remember Pearl, Vernon and who could forget Harry! I know C.T. because we're both OU fans. And Bill W and I were in meetings together many times.

Things sure have changed over the years!

LongTimer said...

So, my next door neighbor works out at HAC, and he is going to turn in his 2 weeks notice tomorrow!

I'm really happy for him, to be able to 'jump ship' before they can discard him like I heard they did to 35 people this last week.

He said that Managers with 4 people or less were the targets, and he's pretty sure the 35 were in OKC, and not elsewhere. Didn't get any specific names, but I'm going to touch base with a few other "Still at Hertz" people tomorrow to see if I can find out who got canned.

The neighbor already has a new job he has accepted, and will start as soon as he has worked his 2 week notice off. He said his new employer is going to even let him work from home!!!!!

Good Luck to those who got the shaft this past week.

Unknown said...

trying to setup having lunch with Vernon, he was sick last week

they also finally paid for my dental bills but are still rejecting my daughters and every time I call them, the rep says I see that your daughter is covered, I will send it back theu again

I really think that the insurance company is working as well as Hertz is....as in NOT

Allan said...

John, I have a question for you. I retired prior to all of the layoffs and was able to obtain medical coverage from CBCA because of my years of service. You mentioned something about dental coverage. Are you receiving dental coverage after retiring?

Unknown said...

Allan,
I retired early but also used CBCA from June, 2004 till I turned 65 last September. I was able to purchase the dental through COBRA and it lasted 18 months. But what a good deal. For me at that time its was $11 per month. Three crowns for my late wife and three crowns for me (plus cleaning and checkups). Not a bad deal. I'm not sure though, I think you have to have been on dental while you were working. Also, the clock starts ticking when you leave Hertz, so if you have been gone six months, you will only be able to use them for one year. Maybe John will have more information.
C. T.

Unknown said...

dental and eye is available thru cobra for a limited time after being displaced, I doubt it is available if you left on your own

Obama pays for 60 some percent of it for this year so it is a very good deal

Allan said...

Thanks Clinton and John for the information. I used COBRA for dental for several months and then dropped it because of the expense. It was $35 per person per month and that was more than what it would cost me for the usual semi-annual checkups.

Unknown said...

John,
I left on my own as soon as my wife was diagnosed, I left the doctor's office and walked into my boss' office and gave notice. Cobra dental and vision was available for eighteen months. I took the dental, not the vision.
C. T.

Unknown said...

the cobra medical is horribly expensive, cheaper to get blue cross

good to know that cobra was available for those that left on their own

I had to inquire myself about retirement gifts, seems the company was not going to tell anybody about them. I was responsible for quite a few getting these gifts including myself.

Unknown said...

John,
Tell me about the gifts. I had heard a rumor, but I didn't get anything. Of course my head at the time was not real clear with my wife's diagnosis constantly on my mind. Also, I too Hertz retiree insurance which is the traditional plan. I believe you took that as well. But dental/vision wasn't available other than Cobra, and my $11 monthly charge was based on what level of dental I was carrying when I retired. And I had level "C". So it was the cheapest with the best coverage. Also, in case some of you folks don't know, even folks that were escorted out are eligible for normal retirement health/benefits if they would have qualified normally. I don't know about folks that are fired for "cause" though.

think you can delete your own posts

dollar value of retirement gifts was based on how many years you had worked, think it started at 10 years, you also had to be over 55 years old if I recall

you looked on the chart of how many years, saw how many dollars you got, then found something that your boss would purchase for you and you both went to pick it up, so it had to be something local, your boss put it on the expense account

the employee paid any overage amount if you wanted something a bit more than your allowance

most of the people I talked to wanted a big screen TV

I had heard about this and had to inquire myself, neither of my bosses at the time knew anything about it, and they thanked me as they were retiring also.

there was also the free vehicle rental retirement program based on the number 85 or something around there, age plus number of years of continuous service at 85 or more, you get 2 weeks of free car rentals at a time worldwide more than 100 miles from your home, and each of the rentals has to be in a different city

so based in OKC, I can rent a car in Dallas for 2 weeks, Houston for 2 weeks, Atlanta...etc, no limit of rentals per year

oh well, now wish I had the money to travel, divorce has caused me to have a different budget

Unknown said...

John,
I have used the car benefit almost 15 times. Twice in Europe. Let me correct a couple of things At least two items you mention have changed in our favor, you may rent within 70 miles of your home which means Tulsa for those of us in OKC, and you can now rent internationally. The actual rental duration is 3 weeks with at least a week before your next rental, then it must be 70 miles from your previous rental. As for eligibility, I have the complete document but I'm not going to waste this space with all the details. The very basic for project leaders (including application consultants) and below (hourly not included), if you are retired, your age plus years of service (including broken service like I have) must equal 87. I have heard that if you left before age 55 it might not apply. I don't know about managers but I do know that director and above have different eligibility requirements. Anyway, sorry about the divorce. Give me a call, I'm listed in the phone book and I'm the only Clinton T. Jr.

Last year it MADE 1.1mil from May to Dec 2008.
This year, half 07's volume.
This is a supply store as well as rental equipment..but you can't sell any supplies when your suppliers have you on CREDIT HOLD because they can't get your office to PAY THEIR BILLS.

What a sad state of affairs. People shouldn't have to lose their jobs because a major corporation won't pay the bills it owes to vendors who are just trying to make a living.

To the people of that location all I can say is I am sorry that you are a victim of corporate greed.

To Hertz, I want to say "shame on you". These are hard working people just trying to do the right thing. You shouldn't put them in a no win situation.

There are times I am glad I no longer work for Hertz. This is one of those times.

Financial Insider said...

Don't worry it gets better guys. Just wait until it gets out that Hertz overcharged credit cards and have to refund.

Overcharging? OMG what is the world coming to? Inquiring minds need to hear more about this. Does anyone know what this is all about?

Somehow hertz is still in business, who cares about that trade agreement that those of us screwed might be able to get. What about hiring us back, getting us a job that we knew how to do. customers can't stand talking to non american's. WAKE THE F UP!!! hell even DELL pulled ALL foreign work if it meant them being on the phone to people in the USA. now being done only here in the US.

Dungeon Dweller said...

THOR - Once again you amaze us with your special powers! The cartoon character is much more believable in that fantasy world! Hertz has nothing to do with the TRA Program...it's a Federal Program.

Get out in the light once in a while DD. I was pointing out that ex employees can use that and it was explained in the letter that went out. I was also saying who cares!!!!!!!! If you have no income, have used your severence pay, and unemployment, what good does a GOV program like TRA do? NONE. It may pay some, but you still have to have some $$$.

I applied for a job with Hertz the other day. Afterall, I needed a few chuckles in my day. I wonder if they will send my resume right into the garbage. Well at least someone will have to read it and get a kick out of seeing it. I hope it is someone who knows me and calls me up to ask why I did it.
I wonder how things would have been if my name was never put on the chop list? I wonder if the bosses who changed the lives of so many people have nightmares? I hope some of them do. At least the ones who did it just to hurt people by getting them off the payroll.
Well, I will appologize for wasting everyones time, but I had a bad day and got on this website just to let off some steam.
Hope your day has been better.

Well Jim, you made my day. At least I know there is someone besides myself that is actually looking at this blog.

I should probably stop looking at it since there is hardly any activity on it, but since I lost my position at Hertz and can't find a new job with anyone else I find myself curious to see what is going on.

So Jim, thanks for the laugh. It was a good start to my day.

Hello Director, and Jim. I check this thing at least once a week, but you are right, the activity has slowed to barely a crawl.

I was amazed when I just checked and saw 3 more posts that the last time I checked.

Trying to figure out the Director's Initials, "JC". I worked for Hertz for 22 1/2 years before my last day.

So, Director, were you in OKC? At the Data Center? That's where I was since November 1985 until April 2008.

P.S. Hope you get the job!!!!!

Director said...

I worked for Hertz for 31 years from August 1977 to July 2008 in three different divisions. I started out in Corporate, went to Car Leasing, then to RAC and back to Corporate.

I had the pleasure of going to OKC a number of times to give presentations at the Learning Center but that was many years ago.

With respects to the job I applied for I don't expect to hear back from them. The job happened to be associated to exactly what I am qualified for.

I will make the "initial" thing easier for you by putting my name right on here.

To all my friends still with the company, and those who have left either on their own or forced out I wish you all happy holidays. Let's hope that 2010 brings us something to cheer about.

Just heard Hertz is re-insourcing support for a portion of servers and are hoping to get some of the old people back. I guess projects are getting behind and they can't get the offshore support from IBM that they need to allow on-site personnel to be effective.

Good luck getting anyone to come back, LOL.

Yes, I have also seen some jobs listed for Hertz and Advantage RAC. Heck, I applied for one, but of course never heard anything from anyone. I am not surprised.

If anyone is out there reading this blog anymore please say something. It would be nice to hear what is going on.

I used to be mad-as-hell but now I just pity Mark for the decisions he has made for the company. I'm sure he only cares about his bank account.

Wow. Losing the Dollar Thrifty deal has created some chaos with Hertz as much commotion seen in OKC over the past few weeks. Evidently, the new VP replacing Schwarz is trying to set the stage. For starters, several managers were relieved of their service. James Clay has been with Hertz for so long now; it will be a difficult transition for whoever takes his spot. James was the conservative, voice of reason and could always be relied upon for good, sound, reasonable decision making. A great person and a great role model for the Hertz team. Good luck James! Brian Dickerson was also relieved of his role this week. Wow again. Does anyone remember the sacrifices Brian and family made while moving to Europe? This one will hurt big. Again, great person and great role model lost. Pam Hermanski was walked out this week as well. Word is her group applauded when this announcement was made as the only thing Pam showed up for is to sit in her office and work on fun events. No love lost here. Several other reservation center employees as well as Wayne Bowman will be leaving. They are trying to rid this company of any of the old timers. Hope it works Hertz.

So get OFF our case R Todd Blevins about cutting your IT cost. You are claiming to have a heavy IT background from candyland, you should know your dim witted signature on every single e-mail runs up your costs and increases our memory load exponentially. You publicly say our IT dept sucks but your plans on taking over our dept will never happen. Sorry, Joe has things quite under control over here. Want to save some money, take your slanted "T" signature off your e-mails! a free tip to you. You couldn't manage us anyway. You fired all the best manager at HAC - Jack, Pam, Jim and James and word is you fired Tammy. Those remaining over there want to thump your Arse back to the candy factory. Have you ever managed anything but a nursery or the teams outsourced to India? Go back and give your tit to your Cadbury pals. You are running the finance org to the ground. We are smelling UNION at the HAC before the outsourcing begins. Nice work here Mark Frissora. You picked a real gem.

What has Todd accomplished since he's been here? Um..... His #1 priority is to eliminate casual days! I've never seen someone so obsessed with people wearing hats, flip flops and wind pants. What about what those people are doing for the company? Are they hard workers? Do they do a good job? Don't you think that's more important than flip flops?

football fan said...

Right now, there are people who are out due to Todd and his crazy outbursts and his multiple personalities. People who have been with this company for 10-20 years and have worked their butts off. These people have dedicated their lives to make Hertz a better company and a better place to work. What do they get in return? Nothing but a slap in the face by someone who knows nothing about Hertz and the rental car business. He is a huge liability for Hertz. Parkridge better do something fast. Before they lose everyone. Bring on the Union!

Joe likes flipflops so keep titboy at HAC. Actually think the union team could have helped some of our ex-IT guys who got the shaft. Everyone knows outsourcing is where your heading. Unions can negotiate longer severance, pay for training or college courses, better benefits while you get the shaft. Better act fast we are all just waiting for his India frinds to set in at HAC. Either way your in for a bumpy ride so get out while you can.

They lay everyone off and wonder why we cant collect money. No one listens to us. We are spiraling out of control and no one seems to care. Bring Swartz back. At least he know HERC and doesn’t sit behind closed doors all day long playing on the internet and wastes our time in stupid townhalls with slides of Marks that we already seen. We need real leaders who can help and support us not just tear us down when results are bad. Our Leaders suck and we are treated like dogs!!!! This is ridiculous and we need to do something about it.

Very interesting no one bothered to check the references on Todd. I happened to be at a family reunion in Texas a few months ago and ran into a Kraft employee. She knew his reputation immediately. Obsessive Compulsive to the point of not being able to deliver on the important objectives; all his direct reports absolutely hated him as he turned on each one during his tenure there - can not be trusted.

I'm surprise Mark hasn't caught on to him. Everyone says he's all talk and all show with fancy buzz words. Elyse fired Steve because he was smarter than her and knew the business. Well, the only true leader in Finance is leaving this week. Congratulations Tammy!!! We are all very proud of you. Cheasapeak picked a star. Nice work Todd, you have now managed to screw this area up beyond repair. Mark, we invite you to OKC to spend a personal day or 2 with Todd. Elyse can't get off her fat ass long enough to realize how big a mistake she made. As CEO of our company you owe it to the board of directors and us to spend enough time with him to see if you approve of how the salary dollars for the VP of Finance is being spent. You will be amazed at where his priorities are. You will see immediately how much he does NOT know about Finance. Wow!!!! We are soooo screwed.

Screwed up Finance said...

We are definitely screwed!!! Absolutely no leadership any longer, just plaqued with problems everywhere you turn. No one cares. We are all just waiting for the next pulse surve. Finance sucks!!!!

Bob said...

Titboy does not know nor care about anything related to OKC Finance. All he does is show up and sit in his office behind closed doors day in and day out. The only time we see him is when he has to pee or take a dump. For so many critical problems here, for a VP, he has no clue what is going on. How could Hertz Sr. Management allow this to continue???? We deserve a real leader in OKC!!! George Tamke needs to pay a personal visit to OKC to witness for himself. Elyse is too stupid to take any action for us. Titboy, you need to GO!

concerned also from hac said...

Appears Titboy never took Leadership 101 where you start by building trust amongst your peers, direct reports. As the lady from Cadbury indicated, his direct reports could not stand him. Titboy did not learn obviously as he has enemies here, not allies. No one respects this man. Someone needs to wake up.

Bob said...

More good people said screw Hertz this week. This is Mark's grand plan. Run off anyone with brains and hire people like Todd to carry out his unscroupulous commands and not know any better. Bankrupsy is looming... This is text book private equity strategy. Hertz is done.

worries at hac said...

It is definitely time to call the Union in. We have a VP who is never seen unless he freaking out over someone's dress. Or, questioning our hours which most of us do not get paid anything for the OT we are demanded to work due to not being able to fill positions. No one in this building has an ounce of respect for this man. He is running us further into the ground. Obviously the PR execs aren't going to deal with this problem, so let's take action.

worries at hac said...

Call the Union. Let's rally folks.

Bob said...

I think we get it by now? This is all Elyse wants from him. She did not hire him to perform well for Finance. She booted Steve and took over a year to find a real good kiss ass retard who would take her commands without comment and keep running people off. Mark's goal is to keep trimming OKC staff down to nothing and they'll risk it all (cust service, it service, projects, etc etc) to just cut heads. This is the only way of managing they know. Bonuses are coming though, so hang tight guys.

Screwed up Finance said...

After the Alex ordeal, he thinks we are all in our offices doing unscroupoulous acts. He is probably installing cameras in his daughter's bedroom to monitor her activities as well. I used to read this blog back when it started. I just came back to see if any predictions about Hertz came true. Not many, as it turns out. It's true that pretty much everyone I hung out with are gone, including me. But the dire predictions about Hertz being gone in 5 years turned out to be wrong. Hertz now owns Zipcar, finally, so that's one deal that worked out. The stock is over 25 at present, so that's good for Hertz. Hertz owns Dollar Thrifty now, but I'm not sure how that's going. Joe Eckroth is gone, so that's one correct prediction. But life goes on, and Hertz does too. As far as I know, the devil has not dragged MF into Hell, as yet.
What's sad to me is that all the observations about Hertz apply to most businesses today - customer service sucks, poseurs run things, and bad things happen to employees before they happen to the guys that made the mess.

Best wishes to all my Hertz friends reading this, I hope you are better off now that your Hertz days are over.
